Pizza on the Farm grows in popularity for Oronoco farm

A tasty tradition in Oronoco is growing in popularity: pizza on the farm.

Squash Blossom Farm is in its third year of hosting its Summer Sundays.

Every Sunday evening from Memorial Day through September, the farm serves wood fired pizzas made from scratch and invites local musicians to perform.

People can play yard games and check out the farm animals.

Most nights the farm makes about 50 pizzas, but on a nice night like Sunday they planned to make 75.

"Families are wandering around looking at animals, watching the chickens and sometimes they bring a bottle of wine and share it," said Susan Waughtal, Co-Owner of Squash Blossom Farm. "Relaxing under the shade, we have two big trees that the audience sits underneath so there’s usually a breeze so even on a hot day it’s comfortable and relaxing out here."

Pizza on the farm starts every Sunday at 4 p.m.

The last Sunday of September, Squash Blossom will host a day long festival called Cow Puja.
