Man arrested for strangling woman, meth found in wallet

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office arrested 34-year-old Samuel Steward Monday night after trying to strangle a woman.

A 27-year-old woman said Steward smacked her and attempted to strangle her during an argument over the care of a 1-year-old child.

Witnesses say the pair was pulling a stroller like a tug-of-war.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies found half a gram of meth in Steward’s wallet when he was taken into custody.

The woman was treated on the scene by an ambulance crew.

The man reportedly is facing multiple charges.
