County fair season continues on this summer with the Mower County Free Fair.
The Fair’s Board of Directors organized a ribbon cutting and ceremony Tuesday.
As always, there are several animal events and plenty of fair rides.
New this year are some upgrades to the fairgrounds, including buried power lines for safety, and a new sun shade in the beer garden.
The County Fair’s Board President, Kevin Finley, says it’s thanks to the volunteers and business sponsors that they’re able to make admission and other activities free to the public.
"From your creative arts to your horticulture, grounds crew, it’s pretty incredible all the work that goes into it, to make it happen every year and to be a very successful fair," Finley said.
The fair is open 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. through Saturday.
It’s open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 pm. on its final day, this Sunday.
