Snapchat organized drug buy turns violent

A drug buy turned into a shooting at a mobile home Monday evening.

Rochester police say they are searching for suspects involved in a drug buy that was arranged on Snapchat.

According to police, a 19-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman from Winona met someone online claiming their name was Ashley and that she would sell them marijuana.

The 19-year-old man reportedly met Ashley and another man at a mobile home off of Park Lane SE.

Police say a the 19-year-old went inside the mobile home when a second man came out of a back room with a gun.

The second man took $300 and an iPhone from the 19-year-old man.

The 19-year-old says he was punched and kicked. When he tried to reach for the gun, it went off shooting a round into the floor.

The struggle between the three men went outside.

The 19-year-old man told police he was hit with a rake and dropped the gun.

Everyone reportedly fled the scene. 

Police say the mobile home has been vacant since December.

Police also say they have strong leads on the people involved.
