Semi truck carrying corn catches fire on Hwy 63

A semi truck’s cargo caught on fire less than a mile south from Stewartville on Highway 63 early Wednesday morning.

The semi truck was carrying corn stalks that burned and spilled out of the trailer.

An Olmsted County Deputy says there are no reported injuries.

At least four trucks responded along with Olmsted County Deputies. Emergency vehicles left the scene around 6 a.m. this morning.

Both lanes that were blocked from the fire have now been reopened.

Our KTTC crew was on site during the clean up and says the cause of the fire is reportedly still unknown. We will update this story as we learn more.
