Action track chair now available to rent at Rochester park

The Rochester Parks and Recreation department is giving everyone the chance to enjoy the outdoors. Nine months after approving the purchase of an Action Track Chair, this outdoor-friendly wheelchair is now ready to use.

A Century High School student brought the idea to the board in January so he and others with physical disabilities could roam beyond their normal boundaries. This nearly $12,000 purchase is part of a pilot program for the city.

The chair is available to use at Quarry Hill Park on the weekends for 90 minute segments. Users need to make a reservation at least three days out by booking online. Click here to make a reservation.
