ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – Candidates for Minnesota’s Attorney General are turning their attention to Southeast Minnesota.
DFL Nominee Keith Ellison came to our area last week for a roundtable discussion, and Monday his opponent made a stop in Rochester.
Doug Wardlow visited the Olmsted County Republican Party Office Monday afternoon for a public meet-and-greet.
He told voters about his plans to rebuild the criminal law division of the office and to fight human trafficking.
Wardlow says while Ellison would use the office to push a political agenda, he would work to keep politics out of his appointments.
“We need to make some changes and get people in there who believe in the rule of law,” he said. “Republicans or Democrats, I’m not going to have a litmus test for political party when I’m making appointments. But we need to depoliticize the office and that means bringing in people who are going to stand up for the rule of law and put the law above politics.”
Wardlow also attended a private fundraiser Monday evening in Rochester.
