ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) –  Dozens of local restaurants and businesses are coming together to support a fellow restaurant owner who died unexpectedly last month.

A potluck-style dinner and silent auction at Bleu Duck Kitchen raised funds for the family of Nicci Sylvester, the owner of Tonic Juice Bar in downtown Rochester.

Sylvester died in late November after going into liver failure and spending several days in the hospital.

About 25 restaurants donated food and beverages, and other businesses gave more than 65 silent auction and raffle items.

“This is a testament of what this woman has done,” said Jennifer Becker, owner of Bleu Duck Kitchen. “So it’s just incredible to see the outreach that people are bringing. We have a full house. It started at noon and it’s been full ever since.”

As of Sunday afternoon, a Go Fund Me page for Sylvester and her family had more than $22,000.

The restaurant was also taking cash and check donations at the door.

Family and friends held a Celebration of Life Saturday evening at Castle Community.
