Improvements include taking out the second level of the building, making lighting modifications and implementing other cosmetic changes.
Before major construction begins, Benike crews will reportedly line the exterior to the theatre with Poly-Sheeting to protect the historical structure.
“Once everything is protected we can get saws in here and everything else and start talking that out. Carpet goes, and then obviously like I said, the second level to open everything up to the ceiling,” said Benike Construction Superintendent John Pecinovsky.
“When you’ll be able to walk in come June-ish you know when this open, you’ll be able to see the whole actual original ceiling, the whole original structures, the artwork that goes behind it and everything.”
For construction, barricades are placed at the north end of the Chateau building. Pedestrian travel is not allowed through the construction zone.
