Two arrested after pursuit in Cerro Gordo County

CERRO GORDO, Iowa (FOX 47) – Two people were arrested after a pursuit of a stolen car in Cerro Gordo County, Iowa Thursday night.

It started at about 10:15 p.m. when a deputy found a 2013 Chevrolet Camero near the I-35 and Highway 18 intersection. The car was taken from rural Clear Lake and was reported stolen.

The car took off through Clear Lake reaching speeds over 100 miles per hour.

The driver lost control and entered a ditch west of Clear Lake and the two people inside took off on foot.

The passenger, Dylan Dimig, 26, of Schleswig, Iowa was found after the foot chase. Dimig is facing charges of interference with official acts.

The driver, Jared Schneckloth, 31, was found in a garage. Scheckloth faces a number of charges, including vehicle theft.
