ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – Kids in Rochester got their fill of fun Saturday afternoon at Coyote Creek, with the Kicking Bear Adventure Day.

Kicking Bear is an organization focused on helping children grow and become better adults, while having fun.

Kids and even their parents got in on the action with events like tug of war, archery, sling shot shoot and ax throwing.

All of these events free, something important for the Kicking Bear’s founder, to make sure all kids have a chance to be a part of the fun.

“When you come to a Kicking Bear event, you get to come here and shoot bows and throw tomahawks and all kinds of games that we’re doing. Face painting and coloring and just getting away from all the things that are on the streets that kind of pulls them into left field,” said Kicking Bear Founding Servant, Ray Howell.

The Kicking Bear program also gets kids set up with mentors who can take them hunting and fishing if they don’t have any to go with.
