Snowplows hit the roads again after overnight snow storm

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – Another round of snow meant another around-the-clock work schedule for plow drivers across Southeast Minnesota.

Locals woke up to a fresh coat of fluffy snow covering everything from highways, to surface streets and sidewalks.

On Rochester streets, 50 operators at Rochester Public Works work with 32 plow trucks, 5 graders, 6 light duty trucks and 2 sidewalk machines.

Believe it or not, operators have over 500 miles of street to keep clear, along with nine miles of alleys.

While they work to improve road conditions, Rochester home owners know all too well what is expected from them.

The city sent out another reminder Monday about their snow policies, including the 24-hour removal rule.

City officials admit that the task is tedious, but necessary.
