Mothers and sons embrace their inner superheroes at Rochester dance

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) –  The Kahler Grand Hotel turned into a ninja turtle lair Sunday for a Mother and Son Superhero Dance.

Moms and their sons were invited to dress up as their favorite superhero or villain for an afternoon of dancing and playing.

A DJ played music while guests could also help themselves to a pizza buffet and a ninja turtle themed candy table.

After organizing similar events in other parts of the state, Duluth-based event production company A Sweet Event decided to bring it to Rochester.

“We create opportunities in these events for moms and sons to hang out, to slow down a little bit, and just spend some quality time just talking, getting to reconnect on a close one on one relationship,” said Peter Cpin, owner of A Sweet Event.

The company also had a “Frozen” themed father-daughter princess ball Saturday night at the Kahler Grand Hotel.

They hope to start having these parties in Rochester once a year.
