Rochester native captures images of Paris before and after Notre Dame Cathedral fire

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – A young woman from Rochester was among the final tourists to see Notre Dame Cathedral as it was on the inside– before flames devoured parts of the historic landmark.

Gracie Bigler’s family confirmed with KXLT that she is safe tonight.

Her mother shared photos and videos that Bigler captured before and after the flames erupted.

She toured Notre Dame about two hours before the fire began.

She is a Fibers major at the Savannah College of Art and Design, currently studying at the Lacoste, France campus.

Her studies brought her to Paris this week.

KXLT tried to speak with her Monday night, but it was already very late in France.

We hope to learn more about her experience Tuesday.

She described the day to her family as “heartbreaking.”
