Loaded gun found during SE Rochester traffic stop

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – An Albert Lea man is behind bars after a traffic stop in Rochester led to an arrest.

Police say 23-year-old Charlie Morris was arrested after an officer stopped him around 11:15 Monday night for not having his license plate properly displayed.

Police say Morris was stopped after trying to evade the officer on the 13-hundred block of 8-and-a-half street southeast.

The officer searched the vehicle after smelling marijuana.

The search uncovered a small amount of marijuana and an unlicensed loaded handgun inside a backpack.
