ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – The end of April is bringing many new road construction projects for Rochester.
The Peace Plaza area is among the many locations looking at a revamp.
The remodeling work at the Wells Fargo building is forcing a one-day partial lane closure along 1st Ave. SW. The northbound lane and the east sidewalk was even closed to traffic Monday. The southbound lane was not affected.
Meanwhile, northwest Rochester saw a familiar road closure.
18th Ave. is expected to be closed from Rochester Assembly Church to the 48th St. round-a-bout for the next few months.
Crews are expected to install 300 feet of storm sewer, pour curbs and gutters and plant trees and rain gardens. The project, that began in 2018, is expected to wrap up in July.
In southeast Rochester, construction of a walk-bike path is expected to close N. Frontage Rd. along Highway 14 SE from 17th to 21st Avenues.
The path itself extends from Marion Rd. to East Circle Dr.
Should of Highway 14 will be shutdown at various times during the project, which is expected to last until mid-July.
RPT route 4A will be detoured as well.
