Rochester man arrested after crash that killed his passenger

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – A Rochester man was arrested in Goodhue County after being involved in an accident that took the life of his passenger.

According to the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, 34-year-old Dustin Hicks was arrested on the scene of the crash early Saturday morning.

The Sheriff’s Office was called to a single-vehicle crash on 29805 County 6 Blvd. near Red Wing around 1 a.m.

Hicks had reportedly been driving with his passenger, 34-year-old Krista Koblitz of Rochester, when he crashed, causing the vehicle to roll.

Koblitz was killed in the crash and Hicks was arrested on the scene.

Hicks is reportedly being held in the Goodhue County Jail on charges of criminal vehicular homicide, driving after cancellation and third degree DWI.

The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
