Rain is the name of the game over the coming days as the storm track remains parked over the Upper Midwest. That means you may need the umbrella at times this week and keep those jackets handy! Temperatures look to remain well below average through Friday with perhaps a brief warm-up this weekend.
Rain showers are likely for tonight along with some rumbles of thunder as our latest storm system passes across southern Iowa. You may need the umbrella as you head out the door for work or school Wednesday morning, but it looks like we should dry out by lunchtime with dry conditions remaining through Wednesday afternoon. High temperatures return to around 50 degrees by Wednesday afternoon under mostly cloudy skies.
Our next storm system quickly arrives for Wednesday evening with the chance for rain returning for Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The good news is that rain should once again be relegated to the morning hours on Thursday with some breaks in the clouds by Thursday afternoon. Drier weather then dominates from Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon before the next chance for rain returns for Friday evening and Friday night.
Temperatures finally rebound back towards average for this time of the year for this weekend with high temperatures climbing back into the upper 60s by Saturday afternoon. At the moment, Saturday looks to be the drier day of the weekend with the chance for rain showers returning for Saturday night and Sunday. With a few more clouds and expected rain showers, high temperatures fall back into the 50s by Sunday.
