Berkman Apartments project nearing construction milestone

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) — Rising from street level across from Mayo Clinic-Saint Marys is a man-made mountain of concrete and steel now nearing a milestone in its construction timeline.

A year ago the Berkman Apartments project began as a huge excavation at the corner of 2nd Street SW and 14th Avenue SW.  At its prominent location it has been a frequent focus of the FOX 47 DroneCam as we’ve tracked its progress over the past year.

Now “The Berkman” is only two weeks away from its topping-off ceremony, now set for May 15th.

“We recently completed pouring the concrete floors of the Tower,” noted Ashley Bisner of Alatus, LLC, the developer.

The 13-story building will feature restaurants and shops on the lower floors, a rooftop pool on the third floor, a dog park, fire pits, and 350 luxury apartments of “elevated living” space.
