Rochester, MINN (FOX 47)- For cheerleading there’s no such thing as an off-season, each month comes with new challenges until the team gains it’s ultimate victory. Meet the Minnesota Xtreme’s Level 3 All Star Cheerleading team, Carbon…the first team in program history to be heading to the Division 2 summit.
“The girls have basically been working up to this every year and haven’t quiet gotten there yet so to them peak and such a great time everybody is just excited to see there hard work has paid off,” said Carbon’s coach Kimberly Noel who has been coaching the team for five years.
The Division 2 summit is a competition held every year in Orlando Florida, putting hundreds of teams from around the Nation on the sports biggest stage…Carbon became one of those teams back in November after receiving a bid for being the top team in their division.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that we cant hit this routine I think everyone has great energy going into it,” says Abigail Gettman a two year veteran on the team.
Regardless of the outcome the Minnesota Xtreme will be making history, not just f or the program but for the state…They’ll be the only team in their division competing from the land of 10,000 lakes…pretty impressive for a gym that only opened it’s doors five years ago.
The Summit will be held May 10th-12th at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.
