ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – If you enjoy history or a good challenge, a free scavenger hunt in downtown Rochester could put your knowledge to the test.
The new Architectural Scavenger Hunt challenges people to identify ten close-up pictures of historic buildings in the downtown area.
The scavenger hunt is a collaboration between the Rochester Public Library, City of Rochester, Experience Rochester, The History Center of Olmsted County, and the Rochester Downtown Alliance.
Organizers put it together to celebrate National Historic Preservation Month.
“I think there’s a lot of interest right now in historical preservation especially with the changes that are going on in the city of Rochester,” said Kim Edson, Rochester Public Library Head of Reader Services. “This is something that the Historic Preservation Commission is encouraging the city to participate in.”
You can find the scavenger hunt’s instructions on the library’s website or in hard copy at the library.
You can complete the hunt anytime between now and May 21st.
Then, all correct submissions will be entered into drawings for prizes, with winners being announced May 28th at the city’s Historic Preservation Commission meeting.
