Rochester school celebrates the end of school year in a unique way

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) — The 2018-19 school year is coming to a close and what better way to cap off a year of learning, than with a “Field Day.”

That’s exactly what happened Friday afternoon Rochester Central Lutheran School (RCLS), but the event also had a unique twist.

RCLS, a Preschool-Grade 8 school, brought back its graduates from four years ago, who are now graduating from the area high schools, to celebrate their accomplishments.

RCLS also has what it calls “Chapel Families,” which consists of an 8th grade leader and a student from each grade level below, all participating in a relay race to cap off the day’s festivities.
