Quick GPS check leads to serious injury crash in SW Rochester

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – Authorities are sharing details about a car crash in Southwest Rochester over the weekend that sent two women to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say 29-year-old Joshua Adams of Frisco, Texas, was eastbound on Salem Road SW at 3:53 p.m. Sunday when he looked down at his GPS. When he looked up, he broadsided a vehicle trying to turn left onto Salem Road from 16th Street SW.

The driver in that vehicle, Yung Wan Yang, and the passenger, Sookkja Jang, were taken to Mayo Clinic Saint Marys with suspected serious injuries. As of Tuesday, neither woman is listed with the hospital.

Adams was cited for failure to yield.
