Fire breaks out inside garage at unoccupied home

NEAR ALBERT LEA, Minn. (Fox 47) – An attached garage at an unoccupied house reportedly caught fire Thursday night.

Freeborn County deputies say they were called for a light on in the garage in the 71000 block of County Road 46 just after 11.

They saw the fire inside the garage when they arrived, and the Conger Fire Department was paged to respond.

Investigators say there was no electrical or gas service to the house. The cause of the fire is still unknown. The State Fire Marshal’s office has been contacted to assist in the investigation.

Responding agencies include the Alden, Manchester, Clark’s Grove, and Albert Lea Fire departments, as well as Mayo Clinic Ambulance.
