ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – Music lovers packed the stands at RCTC for the final Rochesterfest event.

Nine bands performed Sunday night for River City Rhapsody, a drum corps competition.

They came from all over the country, as close as the Twin Cities and as far as Atlanta.

The Blue Stars from La Crosse, Wisconsin were among the performers.

Their band is diverse, too, showcasing students from 26 states and three different countries.

Their director says the band has played at Rochesterfest for the last several years, and they are excited to be back.

“The idea that a community event that really motivates people to come together and participate just in the very awesome things this community has to offer, we’re excited to cap it off, and hopefully be a fun exclamation point on the end of the week,” said Russ Gavin, the Blue Stars corps director.

Tonight’s performance was one of many over the summer months.

The Blue Stars will travel to San Antonio, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia by the end of July. You can find their full schedule here.
