Edward Pompeian, founder of Gift of Life Transplant House, dies at 67

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX47) – Longtime Rochester community leader, Edward “Ed” Pompeian passed away Saturday morning at Saint Mary’s Hospital, according to an obituary on the Macken Funeral Home website. He was 67.

Pompeian founded the Gift of Life Transplant House in Rochester. In 2016, the House was officially named the Edward and Jayne Pompeian Home.

Pompeian also built the transplant home back in the mid-80s, inspired by his own experience with illness, and the financial and emotional toll that recovery can take.

The Transplant House has since helped thousands of families from around the world.
