ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – Ten people got sick after eating contaminated produce at a downtown Rochester restaurant.
According to the Minnesota Department of Health, City Market Downtown received a bad batch of fresh produce last month. As a result, ten people contracted cyclosporiasis, which effects the small intestine and causes watery diarrhea.
People would have been exposed to the contaminated food between June 20 and 26.
The Minnesota Deptartment of Health wants to stress that the restaurant did nothing wrong. Staff at City Market Downtown are currently working with the department.
There is no ongoing threat to people who might eat there.
