It sure was a hot and humid day across southern Minnesota and northern Iowa today and we’ll see these same conditions continue into Monday. Tonight, conditions remain mild with overnight lows in the lower 70s, mostly clear skies, and light southwest winds.
Plan for another hot and humid day as you start your work week this Monday. Temperatures will rise into the upper 80 with dew points in the lower 70s and mostly sunny skies. Make sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated as heat indices climb into the mid 90s. Monday evening could see a chance for showers and thunderstorms, some of which could become strong to severe, but chances look low for our area. The main threats would be heavy rainfall and damaging winds. Additional showers and thunderstorms are possible Tuesday afternoon with highs in the mid 80s. Shower and thunderstorm chances continue into Wednesday with highs in the mid 80s.
Our hot and humid weather pattern continues on as we head into the weekend. Temperatures climb back into the upper 80s for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday with mostly sunny skies.
