Albert Lea armed robbery leads to three arrests

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (FOX 47) — Albert Lea police arrested three people after an armed robbery Friday morning. Police said they are continuing to look for a fourth suspect.

Police said that around 3 a.m. on July 12, a 20-year-old Clarks Grove man said he was walking home on Main Street East when a car drove up, and three men got out.

The victim reportedly said the men had guns and pointed them at him while demanding his backpack. They took the backpack and fled the scene, police said.

Police said they believe 19-year-old Rebecca Ortega was the driver of the car, which was stopped a short time after the robbery.

Police said they arrested Oretega along with 18-year-old Nando Sanchez of Albert Lea and a 15-year-old juvenile.

All three are facing aggravated robbery charges, police said. Police said they are still seeking a third male.
