UPDATE: Albert Lea man behind bars, charged with threats of violence to former employer

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (FOX 47) — UPDATE: An Albert Lea man facing two counts of Threats of Violence– made his first court appearance Thursday morning.

Officers arrested 37-year-old Phillip Jonathan Martinez at 1022 West Fountain Street Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators say Martinez was fired from Lou-Rich Inc. earlier in the day and came back later with a shotgun, making threats to staff.

Bond for Martinez with conditions is set at $50,000 and $200,000 without conditions. He was also granted a public defender and his next court appearance is scheduled for August 1st.

Martinez remains at the Freeborn County Jail.

Officers arrested 37-year-old Phillip Jonathan Martinez at 1022 West Fountain Street, in Albert Lea, Tuesday afternoon.

Investigators say Martinez was fired from Lou-Rich Inc. earlier in the day and came back later with a shotgun, making threats to staff.

Martinez will go before a judge Thursday morning. He’s currently being held at the Freeborn County Jail on two terroristic threat counts.
