ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) – It’s been a turbulent year for Perkins Restaurant and Bakery in Rochester, and the changes might not be over.
A company spokeswoman for Perkins told the news organization, Nation’s Restaurant News, last month that the company is in the process of being sold and that a buyer may declare bankruptcy during the process to take advantage of certain provisions in the bankruptcy code.
In the article she added Perkins’ financial performance has actually improved this year.
You might remember late last year when both Perkins locations in Rochester suddenly closed.
One of the locations, on South Broadway Avenue, just reopened last month.
While Perkins’ spokeswoman, Vivian Brooks, could not elaborate more on what the sale means for Rochester’s location, she tells FOX 47:
“What I can share with you is the fact that the company is having a great year and, we are thrilled and proud to be back in the Rochester market! (As you may know a franchisee closed the two original locations.) Since reopening the Perkins Restaurant & Bakery at 1818 S. Broadway on June 10th, the restaurant has met and exceeded all expectations and we could not be more pleased. Our team is fantastic and we are so happy to be back in the community continuing the Perkins tradition that began over 60 years ago.”
