ROCHESTER, Minn. (Fox 47) – Rochester police say a 17-year-old boy has been arrested in the case of a stolen vehicle hit and run reported Monday evening.

Police say a woman left her Chevy Equinox unlocked when she parked on West Center Street Monday evening.

When she came back two hours later, the vehicle was gone.

Officers found the vehicle at 19th Street and 26th Avenue Northwest, and a chase ensued.

It ended at Elton Hills Drive and 22nd Street Northwest.

That’s when the suspect rear-ended another vehicle and then fled on foot.

Police say the teen was apprehended when he drove another stolen vehicle to his girlfriend’s home where he was hiding on Tuesday just after 7 p.m.

Police say the teen also admitted to stealing a Ford Raptor pickup on Sunday.
