Freeborn County drive helping keep people warm

ALBERT LEA, Minn. (FOX 47) – Since the 1980’s, one Freeborn County woman has been giving the gift of warmth.

Originally known as the Freeborn Area Care Enterprise, Carol Jolly’s winter clothes drive is now called Jack Frost’s Closet. This is her first year partnering with the United Way of Freeborn County.

On their first pick up day, they helped many families but are looking for more supplies.

“It’s for anybody in need. We help a lot of people so we need socks, outer winter wear which is coats, boots, hats, mittens, gloves, scarves, anything,” said founder Carol Jolly. “We will take it because people are desperately in need. Blankets, we’ve had a need for that this year.”

Any new or gently used winter gear and new socks can be donated at drop boxes located throughout Albert Lea and Freeborn County.

The clothing drive runs through December 14th. You can find out the dates when you can pick up winter gear here.
