Rochester firefighter helps deliver baby off South Broadway

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) — A Rochester firefighter helped bring a life into the world early Friday morning.

Just before 3:30 a.m., Rochester Fire confirms a crew from Fire Station Five was called to an off ramp on South Broadway near 40th Street.

A woman was in labor but did not think she could make it to the hospital. Her husband was driving.

When Rochester Fire arrived on scene, one of the firefighters helped the woman deliver a healthy baby.

Rochester Police and Mayo Medical also responded.

Mayo Clinic Ambulance then transported mom and baby to the hospital.
