ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX 47) — Thanksgiving celebrations have wrapped up, Black Friday shopping is over — which means it’s finally time to celebrate “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”
On the first day of December, Rochester wasted no time to kick off the holiday in style. Sunday afternoon, Rochester Moms Blog held the third annual Cookies with Santa party at the Rochester Art Center.
Kids got to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, enjoying the photo ops and discussing what gifts they want this year. And to make sure they were convincing enough, the good little girls and boys were writing letters to mail to the North Pole.
The owner and founder of the Rochester Moms Blog planned this event and tells FOX 47 that seeing Santa early in the month ensures he can check his list twice before the big day.
“You know it’s a busy holiday season, so that way families are free to do all kinds of other things in Rochester,” said Becky Montpetit, Owner and Founder of Rochester Moms Blog. “They know their visit with Santa is done and Santa can make sure to get his good word in to the elves nice and early!”
It seems like a resounding agreement: Santa makes these moments incredibly special for kids.
“I love the Christmas cheer! That’s probably the most fun,” Montpetit added. “I think everybody in Rochester can agree our Santa is so magical. He really makes it so very special for all the kids that come because he knows their names, he remembers them from years before.”
All proceeds from the raffle at Cookies with Santa are going to the Rochester Ronald McDonald House.
