We'll have two more chances for accumulating snowfall this week. One round on Wednesday and a second-round on Friday & Saturday. The second-round of snowfall could be pretty impactful.
A "Winter Weather Advisory" will be in effect from 3 a.m until 12 p.m Wednesday for all of northeastern Iowa and Filmore County. Areas south of I-90 could see a light glaze of ice followed by light snow during the morning commute.
Snowfall will be likely during the morning commute for all of the KTTC-viewing area. Roads could become snow-covered and slick during the morning. Snow showers will taper off just before the lunch hour.
Snowfall Accumulations Wednesday:
Areas along and to the west of Highway 52 should stay around 1" or less with Wednesday's system. The heavier amounts will stay near the Mississippi River Valley.
Round 2: Friday into Saturday
Friday's system still brings the best chance for significant snowfall accumulations across southeastern Minnesota and northeastern Iowa. Timing looks to be late morning Friday with snow lasting into Saturday morning. It's still a little too early to talk about exact snowfall accumulations, however, trends are heading towards significant snowfall being likely on Friday and Saturday. More details to come.
