ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX47) -- Local seniors at The Waters on Mayowood had their lockdown brightened on a frigid Friday courtesy of Bachman's in the Twin Cities.

"The Galleria 2020 Floral Experience" with the flower company Bachman’s was canceled due to the COVID-19. It is one of the Twin Cities' premiere spring events.

Rather than throwing away the flowers grown for the event, the decision was made to donate all 4,000 of them.

The residents are on lockdown because of COVID-19 and the staff is doing everything they can to keep spirits up.

"We just hope the whole world will come together and see the joy that will eventually come out of it. Anyway, thank you for bringing so much joy to us here at Waters. I've never seen so many flowers. They are beautiful," resident Delores Huse said.

Huse said they still do their best to have fun by playing games, listening to music and simply enjoying each other's company.
