Temperatures stayed cool today, ranging from the low 60s to the low 70s across the area. That trend will continue into the weekend, with highs only topping out in the low 70s.
The good news is that sky conditions will be clear and the air will be dry so we won't be feeling sticky as we enjoy the outdoors this weekend. That won't last long heading into next week, as temperatures climb into the upper 80s and dew points near 70.
It doesn't look like we'll continue to see oppressively hot temperatures through the month of June however. The Climate Prediction Center forecasts for average temperatures for much of the Midwest and central U.S.
Some active weather could return for the first week of June. Scattered storms and showers are possible on Monday and again on Wednesday. With those warm temperatures it is possible that some severe storms could pop up, but we'll continue to track that next week.
