Heat and humidity this week brings chances for storms

On Sunday, a line of strong to severe storms moved through the region during the evening, bringing some hail to Lyle and a lot of heavy rainfall to northern parts of the area. Multiple funnels were produced in Winona county around 8:30 p.m, one of them touching down near Lewiston and Stockton. This tornado was categorized as only an EF-0 with 70 mph winds and thankfully no damage reported.

Conditions will stay hot and humid through the rest of the week and through the weekend. Feel-like temperatures will reach the 90s on many days, and some areas may see actual air temperatures in the low 90s.

With that heat comes the chance for some strong storms on Wednesday. Timing right now look to be in the morning and early afternoon, and no severe weather is expected at this point.

Then we'll stay dry into the holiday weekend, hot condition making for perfect boating conditions! Make sure you're being safe in the heat this week: staying hydrated, use sun protection, and make sure kids and pets are protected as well.
