The hot and humid conditions we've been dealing with all week will continue into the 4th of July weekend. High temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s with mostly sunny skies. Showers and thunderstorms should stay out of SE Minnesota and NE Iowa this weekend keeping us dry and muggy into early next week.
4th of July Forecast:
High temperatures for the 4th of July will range from 88-92° with some heat index values reaching near 95° during the late afternoon. Sunshine will dominate the forecast during the afternoon with clear conditions to follow overnight into Sunday morning. Overnight lows will be in the upper 60s with light winds out of the southeast around 3-8 mph.
Temperatures will stay mild through the evening on the 4th of July. We'll stay in the middle and lower 80s until around 9-9:30 Saturday night. Dew points will remain in the middle 60s making it a muggy evening across SE MN and NE IA.
Temperatures will stay in the upper 80s and even lower 90s through all of next week. The blocking pattern will slightly weaken which will bring a better chance for widespread showers and thunderstorms by mid-week, but temperatures will remain on the warm side all week.
