2020 Mower County Fair canceled amid COVID-19 pandemic

AUSTIN, Minn. (FOX47) -- Another county fair in Minnesota has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mower County Fair won't be happening next month.

The board met on Monday and concluded there couldn't be a successful event with everything going on.

The Austin festival was scheduled to take place from Aug. 11 to the 16.

Most county fairs across southeast Minnesota have been canceled,
including: Olmsted, Fillmore, Freeborn, Dodge, Houston, Winona, Wabasha, Waseca and Steele.

The Minnesota State Fair was canceled in May.
