RPD issues warning after multiple reports of necklaces stolen

ROCHESTER, Minn. (FOX47) -- Rochester Police have issued an alert following a recent string of robberies targeting women wearing necklaces.

According to the Rochester Police Department, the most recent incident happened Thursday morning when a 70-year-old woman was stopped in southeast Rochester by a man, woman and three children in a van.

They reportedly asked the woman if she wanted to see some gold jewelry.

Police said all the incidents have followed a similar pattern.

RPD said to disengage with anyone trying to sell you jewelry on the street and contact law enforcement with suspect and vehicle descriptions.
