After over a week of dry conditions, it looks like we're finally in for some rain chances this weekend! Two frontal boundaries will move through between tonight and Sunday which gives us two opportunities for storms and showers.
The warm front will edge towards southeast Minnesota late tonight, bringing the chance for storms overnight into very early Friday morning. I don't think many showers will hang around after 8 a.m. so we'll actually have dry conditions for the majority of Friday.
However, that warm front could spark up a few more storms for Friday evening. Right now, timing looks to be mostly after 8 p.m. into the overnight hours. Our second round (and potentially more impactful round) will be with a cold front on Sunday afternoon.
During the past week, a lot of our rain chances have fizzled out due to dry dew points. I think we have a better chance at some soaking showers this weekend because our dew points will be in the upper 60s to low 70s, really helping to support shower development.
Once the storms pass through this weekend, our dew points and temperatures will drop to more comfortable levels for the beginning of the work week.
