NEAR STEWARTVILLE, Minn. (FOX47) -- A 55-year-old motorcyclist was killed Tuesday afternoon in crash near Stewartville.
The Olmsted County Sheriff's Office said a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stopped waiting to turn, going south on County Road 16 SE and County Road 1 around 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
The victim, Charles Sklavos of Rochester was riding a 1991 Honda motorcycle and stopped behind the Jeep. Authorities said a Kia Sedona approached the motorcycle from behind and failed to stop, swerved, hitting the motorcycle.
The Sheriff's Office said Sklavos was thrown off the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Olmsted County Sheriff's Captain Scott Behrns said there is no indication of intoxicated or distracted driving. A possible mechanical failure of the Kia is being investigated.
