We're continuing to track a cold front that is bringing storms and showers to the western parts of Minnesota this afternoon, with some severe storms and tornado warnings near Alexandria. As that front continues pushing eastward through the region this evening, expect scattered storms and showers between 7-11 p.m.
As this front moves through the state, storms will lose a lot of energy so our chances for severe or strong storms is looking quite low. Rainfall accumulations are looking light: between a tenth and a half inch across southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa.
Though the front won't help us much in the rainfall department, it will usher in a lot of cool and dry air behind it making for a beautiful weekend! Dew points will stay in the mid to upper 50s, with temperatures staying seasonable.
Similar conditions will persist through a majority of next week with slim to no rain chances. Hopefully we can get a few showers to pop up during the week to help keep drought conditions at bay!
Enjoy the beautiful weekend!
