Once again, it's time to brace for some cold temperatures tonight! A freeze warning will go into effect at 1 A.M on Friday until 8 A.M. Many areas should expect to see temperatures drop to the low 30s to upper 20s, especially counties the the east of I-35.
Make sure to cover up or bring inside any plants that you'd like to save, and also make sure to drain your garden hoses to keep them from being damaged in the cold.
Temperatures will stay cool tomorrow, so cool that we could see a few snowflakes in the morning! A weak disturbance will move through tomorrow, bringing a slight chance for showers/flurries during the morning and again during the afternoon.
Windy conditions will persist for the next few days, but we will get a bit of relief tonight. Winds will pick back up Friday morning at 10-20 mph. Things will get even breezier for the weekend with gusts near 30 mph on Saturday and Sunday.
This is pretty typical for October in southeast Minnesota and northeast Iowa. Fall is always a breezy time of year as air masses shift due to the changing temperatures, and we have even windier conditions to look forward to through the month of November.
