Pattern shift this week brings changes

Temperatures have gradually been warming up through the past few days as the jet stream begins to reset itself, pushing arctic air back northward. Low temperatures tonight will actually remain above zero! Low single digits with mainly cloudy skies across the area.

Thanks to the blast of cold air last week, we've seen a pretty dry February so far. After we received three inches of snow on February 4, our snow chances have been minimal due to the very dry atmosphere and the main storm tracks staying south.

That will begin to change as we move toward the last week of the month. Our next best chance for measurable snow is this Sunday, however, the main impacts look to stay to our south. We could have two more additional snow chances before the start of March.

High temperatures will continue to trend in the right direction through the rest of the week; we could be nearing 40 degrees by next week! We'll still start out a few more mornings on the cool side as low temperatures dip below zero, but a major improvement compared to what we've seen recently!
