A gray, blustery, damp start to the week; warmer days are ahead

Ted 7 Day Fox

Blustery and damp today

A large storm system remains planted to our north today, keeping our area cool, gray, and unsettled much like the weather we experienced over the weekend. Expect occasional light rain showers and sprinkles throughout the day, especially on the Minnesota side of the border. Gusty, raw west winds will add an extra chill to the air occasionally reaching 25 to 30 miles per hour in the late morning and afternoon hours. High temperatures will be in the lower 50s later today.

A wintry Tuesday

Colder air will sweep into the area from the northwest on the backside of that storm system as it begins to work its way eastward. We'll have thick clouds tomorrow with raw winds and a chance of light rain showers and sprinkles throughout the day that will mix with snow early in the morning and again during the late evening hours. Only a trace amount of snow is expected, so no shoveling will be necessary. High temperatures tomorrow will only be in the lower 40s which is about 15 degrees below the seasonal average. A harsh west wind that will reach 25 miles per hour at times will keep wind chill values in the 20 to the lower 30s.

A cool, but dry Wednesday

Clouds will hang on for our Wednesday, but the showers will move out of the area as the large system from the early part of the week will finally pull away into the northern Great Lakes. We'll have a few breaks of sunshine during the day with high temperatures in the upper 40s and a brisk northwest breeze.

Seasonably mild late week

We'll enjoy large rounds of sunshine on Thursday and Friday with lighter winds in the area, making for a slightly warmer, more pleasant end to the workweek. High temperatures will be in the mid-50s for both days which is only a few degrees cooler than the seasonal average.

Slightly warmer weekend

While a week storm system looks to potentially graze the area to the south Saturday, bringing sparse rain chances, we're still looking at a slightly warmer outlook in the longer term. Expect scattered light showers in part of the area Saturday with high temperatures in the lower 50s. Sunday will feature a slightly sunnier outlook with a light breeze and high temperature in the mid-50s.
