AUSTIN, Minn. (FOX47) — 45-year-old David Harris was shot and killed in his own home Saturday morning in Austin, leaving his wife Ronica to fill his role as a father and grandfather.

“I don’t know how to play the role. I feel like they’re helping me more than I’m helping them,” said Harris.

Ronica says her husband David, died in her arms.

“I was lucky. I mean as horrible as this is, I was so lucky that five minutes before this happened, I gave him a kiss and we told each other I love you and goodnight. A lot of people don’t get that,” Harris stated.

A warrant is out for Miguel Nunez Jr. A criminal complaint states that after storming into Harris’ home demanding drugs, Nunez shot Harris in the chest and Nunez quickly left the scene.

“My husband grew up in northeast Minneapolis. He understood the streets. He would have talked to him. He would have understood what he was going through,” said Harris.

Ronica believes finding the man who killed her husband will help her family find closure after the tragedy.

“Him being found would just guarantee safety for everyone else,” Harris said.
