AUSTIN, Minn. (FOX47) — An Austin man has been brought into custody for his alleged role in the riot at the United States Capitol on Jan. 6.
According to a tweet from the FBI Minneapolis, 29-year-old Daniel Johnson was arrested on Friday morning on charges related to criminal acts at the Capitol.
The FBI also arrested Daryl Johnson, Daniel Johnson's father, in Iowa. Images show both were inside the capitol on January 6.
The pair spoke about their experiences on Facebook, with Daniel claiming "Dad and I were one of the first ones inside."
The FBI noted that an officer with the St. Ansgar Police Department is familiar with the family because Daryl Johnson's father was once the mayor of St. Ansgar.
The FBI said the charging documents will be available here.
